Upcoming event: Panel Discussion and Student Debate on Climate Resilience

On the occasion of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, FAO is organizing a Panel Discussion and Student Debate on Climate Resilience - Integrating Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction in the Agriculture Sectors that will take place on Friday, 13 October 2017 (14:00-17:00) at the Palais des Nations, Room XXVII, Building E.

Ms Carolyn Rodrigues Birkett, Director,  of the FAO Liaison Office in Geneva will moderate the panel which comprises four experts of climate change and disaster risk reduction:

  • Ms Shoko Arakaki, Chief, Regional Programme Coordination and National Implementation Support, UNISDR

Ms Sylvie Wabbes, Emergency and Resilience Officer, FAO Headquarters

Ms Sophie Baranes, Coordinator, Capacity for Disaster Reduction Initiative (CADRI)

Mr Sandeep Sengupta, Global Coordinator of IUCN’s Climate Change Portfolio
