FAO and the Graduate Institute to collaborate on food and agriculture issues
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Graduate Institute (IHEID) proceeded today (4th June) to an “Exchange of Letters” to formalize their collaboration and enhance their cooperation on food and agriculture and international relations issues.
The Letters, which were signed at Maison de la Paix by Philippe Burrin, Director of the Graduate Institute and Carolyn Rodrigues Birkett, Director of the FAO Liaison Office to the United Nations in Geneva, sets the framework for close collaboration on a wide range of research, professional training and career opportunities for the IHEID students, and outreach activities, including joint conferences, workshops, panel discussions and other events aimed at the international community around the Sustainable Development Goals.
The agreement will consolidate the existing good relations between the two parties and will allow FAO to benefit from the Graduate Institute’s expertise in international relations and development. On the other side, FAO will facilitate arrangements for the participation of senior FAO officials and experts at appropriate events organized by IHEID and will facilitate the access to IHEID to relevant e-Learning modules and webinars, where appropriate, in IHEID academic programs.
