Second Joint FAO-WFP Informal Briefing on Food Security

Geneva, 6 May 2021. The second joint FAO-WFP briefing on food security was held on 6 May. Arif Husain, WFP Chief Economist and Luca Russo, FAO Senior Food Crisis Advisor presented the main findings of 2021 Global Report on Food Crises.

The briefing also provided an opportunity to focus on the alarming acute food insecurity situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Hakan Felkell, WFP Deputy Country Director in DRC and Nourou Tall, FAO Deputy Representative in DRC, presented the food security situation in DRC and the interventions FAO and WFP are implementing to save lives, livelihoods and build resilience
