What does Geneva have to do with your food? - Event at Expo Milan on the Swiss Pavilion
A special event coordinated by the United Nations at Geneva Office Perception Change Project and the city of Geneva, as part of the Geneva week at the Swiss Pavilion, Expo Milan, took place on 19 September. The objective of the UNOG "Perception Change Project" is to raise the profile of the UN in Geneva, as well as demonstrate the worldwide impact of the work undertaken here.
FAO LOG has been asked by the UNOG Secretariat to contribute to the event. The outreach event consisted in a collective presentation of representatives of different Geneva-based organizations and offices who shared stories and examples related to food ("What does Geneva have to do with your food?").
FAO LOG was approached by the UNOG to participate in this interesting session in view of its Geneva-based collaborative dimension. Mr. Silvano Sofia, FAO LOG, was the FAO speaker. He focused in particular on this year's World Food Day theme, namely "Social Protection: breaking the vicious cycle of rural poverty", using the key messages developed by FAO for this purpose.
