FAO at GEO Global Forum 2025 “Mapping the Future of Food”

05/05/2025 - 09/05/2025

Geospatial technologies play a crucial role in supporting the mandate of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to achieve food security, sustainable agriculture, and natural resource management. By integrating satellite imagery, spatial analysis, and ground-based data, FAO provides evidence-based insights for land use planning, crop monitoring, forest management, and climate resilience. These tools empower countries to make informed decisions and implement targeted interventions, particularly in regions facing environmental and agricultural challenges.

FAO will participate in the first Group on Earth Observations (GEO) Global Forum 2025, taking place from 5 to 9 May 2025 in Rome, Italy.

We warmly invite you all to join our panel sessions and visit the FAO booth in the Auditorium Della Tecnica Congress Center (Viale Umberto Tupini, 65, 00144). Our team will present ongoing geospatial initiatives, demonstrate interactive tools and engage in discussions on how spatial data can leverage the sustainable development goals (SDGs).

Whether you're a policymaker, researcher, or practitioner, the FAO booth will offer you a valuable opportunity to explore innovations in geospatial solutions for agriculture and food security.

FAO will participate in panel sessions with the following details:

  1. Community Event Session 6: EO for Land: The Power of Collaboration for Country Impact. See the agenda here >>
  2. Community Event Session 8: Earth Intelligence for Food, Water, and Ecosystem Resilience. See the agenda here >>
  3. Community Event Session 11: Earth Observation for Forests. See the agenda here >>
