FAO and UK launched new AIM4Forest programme
Exciting news to mark Earth Day! The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the United Kingdom today launched AIM4Forests, a five-year programme designed to accelerate country capabilities in forest monitoring as a part of global efforts to stop deforestation and forest degradation, and restore forests.
AIM4Forests has been designed in consultation with GFOI Leads and includes support for the ongoing design and implementation of the country-led planning (CLP) as well as further developments of the platforms under the GFOI Family of Resources and various other GFOI activities.
With £24.5 millions of International Climate Finance to accelerate innovative monitoring of forests, the new programme will help meet the pledges made by the world leaders at the UN's climate talks in Glasgow in 2021. Read more here.
