Agenda, side events and exhibition booths schedules.
The annual GFOI Plenary brought together the global community of practitioners who support tropical countries in forest monitoring and associated emissions Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) procedures. The Plenary aimed to share information and ideas, review progress and identify new opportunities for helping countries to improve their forest monitoring capabilities to enable better forest management and ultimately the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
The overarching theme for the GFOI Plenary 2023 was the role of forest information in addressing climate change with the following sub-topics: REDD+, Nationally Determined Contributions, Restoration and Blue Carbon.
The Plenary was a collaborative event organized by the GFOI Office, as hosted by FAO, on behalf of GFOI's Lead partners in the Governments of Australia, Germany, Norway, the United Kingdom and the United States of America, as well as the participating international organizations, the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS), the European Space Agency (ESA), and the World Bank.
