The Research and Development (R&D) Coordination Component of the Global Forest Observations Initiative (GFOI) held the third session of the GFOI R&D Exchanges on 30 June 2025. Nearly 200 participants gathered for the virtual exchange, “Insights on degradation and regrowth: From research to reporting.” The informative and collaborative session focused on recent achievements in research for assessing degradation and regrowth carbon fluxes, national methodologies to monitor these fluxes, challenges faced by countries and the potential for improvements in country reporting with science.
