International Day of Forest

Ghana will join the global community to mark the International Day of Forests 2026 under the theme “Forests and Economies,” highlighting the critical role forests play in driving sustainable economic growth. Beyond providing income, jobs, and trade in renewable raw materials and food products, forests underpin family and community agriculture, enhance productivity, and protect vital watersheds. As countries transition to sustainable bioeconomies, forest-based solutions offer viable alternatives to carbon-intensive materials and create new economic opportunities. Recognizing their far-reaching contributions, forests remain indispensable to resilient economies and the well-being of present and future generations.
