The GIAHS Coordinator, Yohihide Endo, presented the GIAHS Programme at the first session of the Forum "Il bel paesaggio", dedicated to the protection and promotion of traditional agricultural landscapes.

In addition, FAO and Fico organized an exhibit dedicated to the GIAHS programme, in the foyer area of the congress center.

The exhibit represents a journey through some of the 57 sites recognized by FAO as treasures of global importance. Landscapes that represent models of co-evolution of communities with the surrounding environment, based on traditional knowledge and unique cultures that deserve to be preserved both as human and natural heritage.
