Ukraine suspends exports of some food products

On 5 March 2022, the Government of Ukraine adopted Resolution 207, which amends Resolution 1424 of 29 December 2021, providing for the suspension of exports of some food products, including oats, buckwheat, millet, rye, meat, sugar and salt. The decision was taken to safeguard domestic food supplies amid the ongoing conflict.

 

On 9 March 2022, the government added other products, including barley and rapeseed, to the list of products of which exports are suspended. 

 

In addition, also on 5 March, the government introduced exports licensing requirements for wheat and meslin, maize, poultry, eggs and sunflower oil, that is, the exports of these products are only allowed with the permission of the country's Ministry of Economy.
