Afin d’améliorer les conditions de vie des petits producteurs de manioc au Cameroun, le projet soutenu: (i) les stratégies nationales et régionales existantes sont alignées sur des initiatives qui soutiennent le développement d’une meilleure intégration des marchés régionaux dans le secteur du manioc; (ii) la compétitivité et la viabilité de la filière manioc sont renforcées à travers une amélioration durable de l’intensification de la production et la coordination des chaînes de valeur; (iii) l’accès des petits acteurs aux services d’information et au financement est amélioré; et (iv) l’accès des petits acteurs aux instruments de gestion des risques climatiques est amélioré.

To unleash the potential of small Irish Potato producers in Uganda, the Roots and Tubers project supported (i) to align existing national and regional strategies with initiatives that support the development of better integration of regional markets in the cassava sector; (ii) to strengthen the competitiveness and viability of cassava actors by improving inclusive business models, sustainable intensification of production, and the capacity of small and medium enterprises and farmer organizations; (iii) improved access to information services and finance for smallholders; and (iv) greater access to climatic risk management instruments for small producers.

In order to improve the livelihood of small actors involved in the cassava value chain in Ghana, the project supported: (i) existing national and regional strategies are aligned with initiatives supporting the development of improved regional market integration for the roots and tubers sector; (ii) the competitiveness and viability of roots and tubers value chains are strengthened by improving inclusive business models, sustainable intensification of production, and the capacity of small and medium enterprise and farmer organizations; (iii) access to information services and finance is improved for smallholders; and (iv) smallholder producers have access to climatic risk management instruments.
