FAO is working together with the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INEC) of Ecuador to expand the scope of ongoing surveys, with the support of the AGRISurvey programme.
In particular AGRISurvey is proving technical assistance to:
- Integrate the Economy module and the Labour input in the current annual agricultural surveys (ESPAC);
- Promote the use of new technology in data collection such as CAPI and Computer Aided Web Interview (CAWI), and integrate satellite images to improve field logistics and area measurement;
- Include a component on gender in the data collection;
- Facilitate the publication of results.
