Agricultural Integrated Survey Programme - AGRISurvey

UBOS completes the on-line release of statistical products of AAS 2018

News - 22.12.2020

FAO's AGRISurvey programme – now part of the 50x2030 Initiative –  provides financial and technical assistance to the Uganda Annual Agricultural Survey (AAS) administered by the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS). In the last three years, AGRISurvey has introduced significant enhancements to the AAS in the domains of survey design, use of technology, data analysis, dissemination and use of data and key results.

UBOS has completed the dissemination programme of the AAS 2018, allowing users to access high quality data generated from the survey and ensuring highest public use value of the survey data. A key objective of the AGRISurvey programme is to fill the data gap in agriculture to enable evidence-based policymaking. The publication of the statistical outputs related to AAS 2018, is a big step towards filling this data gap, providing Ugandan policy makers, national and international stakeholders with easy access to critical information for agricultural sector policy analysis, design and monitoring.

Below are the statistical outputs available on-line:

  • The AAS 2018 full report is available here. The full set of tables included in the report has also been released in Excel format here;
  • Statistical tables, associated documentation and visualizations are available on the UBOS Open Data platform;
  • The AAS 2018 Anonymized Microdata File (Science Use File, SUF) and the associated documentation, including questionnaires and DDI-metadata
    (variable level documentation) are catalogued on the UBOS Microdata Archive. Click here to access microdata and survey documentation.
  • AAS 2018 survey documentation can be also accessed here on FAO microdata catalogue (FAM).
