Agricultural Integrated Survey Programme - AGRISurvey

Agricultural data available for all

Opening access to statistics has numerous benefits, including enhancing research and evidence-based decision-making, improving relevance and quality of official statistics, reducing duplication in data collection, increasing returns on public investments, and ensuring compliance with fundamental principles and standards for dissemination of official statistics.

That is why AGRISurvey strives to strengthen practices of data producing agencies around data tabulation, presentation and dissemination, including the release of microdata, which is key for the development of analysis at granular level.

The inclusion of a data-use objective within the AGRISurvey program recognizes that data production alone are unlikely to increase the use of evidence in decision making.

As such, AGRISurvey is promoting data use activities to ensure increased and improved use of survey data to inform decision making by key actors through:

  • Greater alignment of data offer with the needs of users;
  • Increased statistical literacy and analytical skills among key user groups;
  • Regular sensitization on the strategic benefits of evidence-based decision making in agriculture.
