The first CCLME Project Steering Committee meeting held in Dakar on 4 November 2010 decided the creation of six technical working groupsto set up the Transboundary Diagnosis Analysis Development Process and the elaboration of a Strategic Action Plan (SAP) of the CCLME project. The terms of reference of the “Biodiversity, Habitat and Water Quality”, as well as that of the other working groups, were also adopted during that meeting. For the composition of this working group, the Regional Coordinating Unit (RCU) contacted all the countries for the designation of their representatives.

The meeting aimed to produce regional reports on data and information on biodiversity, habitat and water quality with emphasis on political and economic shortcomings in the area of their protection but also to make a compilation of data on pollution and health ecosystem in CCLME countries. A summary report will be made on the basis of national reports presented by country representatives.
