Fishers from Petite Martinique, Grenada received captain’s permit

Twenty-eight (28) fisherfolk including one (1) female in Petite Martinique received captain’s permit and certification upon completing a one-week Captains’ Training Course implemented by the Windward Island Research & Education Foundation (WINDREF) at the St. George's University in partnership with the Ministry of Fisheries.

The training forms part of the Fishing Vessel Captains’ Training Program for Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique funded by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations through the Climate Change Adaptation of the fisheries sector in the Eastern Caribbean Project (CC4FISH).

In addition, participants also received VHF Marine Radios with GPS.
