The official launch of CountrySTAT-Azerbaijan took place on December 4, 2017 at Holiday Inn Hotel with about 50 participants. This event was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with FAO office in Azerbaijan.
The objective of the Official Launch Ceremony of CountrySTAT-Azerbaijan Platform was to sensitize high national authorities, regional and international organizations, development partners and national institutions on the importance of the CountrySTAT-Azerbaijan platform, in order to get their support and take an active part in the consolidation and sustainability of CountrySTAT in Azerbaijan.

During the half-day, various speeches were made, between which the Chief of Administration of the MoA, Mr. Ilham Bayramov, emphasized that it is an essential tool for Azerbaijan in the effort to achieve quality and available data, and that it is essential to continue updating every year the system. Other speeches stressed the importance of good collaboration among MoA, State Statistic Committee and FAO-Azerbaijan and that CSTAT is very valuable for the active users like researchers, institutions, private companies and the people dealing with the agriculture.
At the end of the ceremony, an open discussion with questions and answer was held. 

The ceremony was a great success and FAO congratulated the CountrySTAT focal point, Mr. Firdovsi Fikretzade, for a brilliant future and collaboration.
