Access to and use of data collected within the framework of the EAF-Nansen Programme
Data collected with the support of the EAF-Nansen Programme within national exclusive economic zones and in areas beyond national jurisdiction are shared with the partner countries and relevant regional organisations, respectively. All data are also routinely stored at the Norwegian Institute of Marine Research (IMR), which acts as the data custodian for the Programme. Access to and use of the Nansen data is governed by the Nansen Data Policy (NDP). Programme partners can request access to their respective datasets through the EAF-Nansen Programme portal.
Third parties can seek permission to access data for activities to be carried out jointly with the partner countries or regional organisations, including research projects. The partner country or RFB/RFMOs with the support of the Nansen Programme will evaluate the data requests in full compliance with the NDP. Prior to submitting a data access request, it is recommended that users familiarise themselves with the NDP.
To submit a request to access and use data please register below. Following the receipt of a request, the Programme in consultation with the relevant partner country or RFB/RFMO will consider the request and provide a response within 15 business days.
