The meeting provided valuable insights and a deeper understanding of the challenges and priorities of gender equality in different country contexts, enabling FAO ECTAD to enhance its approach to gender mainstreaming and identify best practices applicable to its work in the region. FAO ECTAD has been conducting various programme-wide gender analyses to identify needs, constraints and opportunities to mainstream gender equality aspects into its programme implementation alongside regional economic communities such as the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), private sectors and community-based organizations.
