On Wednesday, 29 October 2021, the EX-Ante Carbon Balance Tool (EX-ACT) team presented the Biodiversity Integrated Assessment and Computation Tool (B-INTACT) to the Asian Development Bank experts. 

The event outlined the simple, yet innovative approach of the tool and demonstrated how it contributes to better decision-making processes at local and country to ensure positive biodiversity outcomes of policies and investment projects. The presentations also covered the most recent updates and improvements in the B-INTACT tool and explained how the tool complements other two tools in the suite for comprehensive assessments of agricultural interventions. The Q&A session provided an occasion to exchange feedback and experiences about the use of the tool in the Asia and Pacific region.

Overall, the event strengthened the awareness of the FAO’s technical expertise for the analysis, monitoring and evaluation of climate change mitigation and biodiversity outcomes of policies and investments in the Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (AFOLU) sector.
