The article highlights the importance of public procurement policies in tropical timber-producing countries in reducing the amount of illegal timber produced and sold, and in promoting sustainable forest management. The piece showcases the experiences of Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Ghana, Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras and Peru, and it presents steps that Governments are taking towards incentivizing the use of legal timber on domestic markets. Read the full article here.
