The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Türkiye, will host a training seminar titled “Land banking in support of land consolidation: Bringing in European experience and good practices” on 21 January 2025 in Ankara, Türkiye.
This seminar is organized as part of the project “Enhancing agricultural land market development to address land abandonment and improve land consolidation procedures” (also known as the Land Banking Project), which operates under the FAO–Türkiye Partnership Programmes on Food and Agriculture II (FTPP II).
The event will provide insights into European practices and tools that support land consolidation and address land abandonment. Topics will include:
•Land banking in support of land consolidation – European good practice
•Using land consolidation and land banking instruments to address land abandonment
FAO’s land tenure officers, along with experts from the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works and the General Directorate of Agrarian Reform, will contribute to the seminar.
