LCCS is a comprehensive, standardized a priori classification system designed to meet specific user requirements, and created for mapping exercises, independent of the scale or means used to map. It enables a comparison of land cover classes regardless of data source, thematic discipline or country. The LCCS system enhances the standardization process and minimizes the problem of dealing with a very large amount of pre-defined classes.

The GAEZ database provides the agronomic backbone for various applications including the quantification of land productivity. Results are commonly aggregated for current major land use/cover patterns and by administrative units, land protection status, or broad classes reflecting infrastructure availability and market access conditions. With this large amount of data, a new system had to be created to make the data accessible to a variety of users. The result is the new GAEZ Data Portal, an interactive data access facility, which not only provides free access to data and information and allows visualization of data, but also provides the user with various analysis outputs and download options.

The focus of LADA/WOCAT tools is on assessment of both land degradation and the response to the problem through SLM best practices. Repeating/updating of the assessment provides data for monitoring over time. Creation of a knowledge base for informed decision making on SLM mainstreaming and outscaling

Collect Earth is a tool that enables data collection through Google Earth. In conjunction with Google Earth, Bing Maps and Google Earth Engine, users can analyze high and very high resolution satellite imagery for a wide variety of purposes, including: Support multi-phase National Forest Inventories; Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry (LULUCF) assessments; Monitoring agricultural land and urban areas; Validation of existing maps; Collection of spatially explicit socio-economic data; Quantifying deforestation, reforestation and desertification

Satellite Land Monitoring System (LMS) portals in the form of interactive maps to collect and assess over time activities related to forest land.
