World Food Day: Grow, nourish, sustain. Together. Our actions are our future.


The World Food Day 2020, happening on 16 October 2020, marks the 75th anniversary of FAO in an exceptional moment marked by the COVID-19 pandemic. As countries around the world suffer the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, #WorldFoodDay is launching a call for global solidarity to help the most vulnerable people to recover and make food systems more sustainable and resilient to shocks.

Hundreds of events and outreach activities will bring together governments, businesses, NGOs, the media, and general public. The main goal is to promote worldwide awareness and action for those who suffer from hunger and for the need to ensure healthy diets for all. We need to make sure that our food systems grow a variety of food to nourish a growing population and sustain the planet, together.
