Explore the new features of the Forest and Landscape Restoration Mechanism website

07/02/2025

The Forest and Landscape Restoration Mechanism (FLRM) of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is excited to announce a new updated website available in English, French and Spanish to keep users up to date on forest and landscape restoration (FLR) activity.

Key features of the website

The updated website allows users to easily navigate the FLRM’s activity, history and project information. The new FLRM website includes a project map feature located on the home page to showcase current and past projects in countries supported by the FLRM. The FLRM coordinates and facilitates the development and implementation of FLR projects, programmes and related activities in FAO Member Nations, including through collaborations with other key actors.

Visitors to the site will also have access to the FLRM team’s work under the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (UN Decade). This tab highlights the actions and contributions of FAO as co-leader of the Decade. The website includes up-to-date information on the FAO-led UN Decade Taskforce on Best Practices, as well as examples of FAO support and activity that contributes to the scaling-up of the World Restoration Flagships under the UN Decade.

Knowledge dissemination by the Forest and Landscape Restoration Mechanism

A special focus of the redesigned website is to highlight the FLRM resources available to the public. These resources include the latest publications, the FLRM newsletters and articles, field activity videos of past and ongoing projects, interviews, webinars, e-learning courses on FLR practices and innovations, e-alerts for high-level news, and a photo gallery of the FLRM’s field activity.

With global, national and regional restoration goals in mind, the new FLRM website is designed to make it easy to access detailed information on projects, donors, impacts, results and current contact lists available under each selected country page.
