Following the first visit of Italian experts to Morocco in May 2022, exchange visits coordinated by The International Association of Mediterranean Forests (AIFM) and organized in collaboration with the Mediterranean Model Forest Network and Tuscany region, are currently taking place in Italy, in the Montagne Fiorentine Model Forest, from 24 to 28 October 2022.

These Exchange visits between countries of the Mediterranean basin have been organized within the framework of the Mediterranean regional component of the project "The Paris Agreement in Action: Scaling up Forest and Landscape Restoration to Implement Nationally Determined Contributions" of the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).

Following the first visit in Morocco, this event in Italy will allow experts from the two countries to further share knowledge and expertise, discussing nature-based solution and specifically restoration, and their role in the sustainable management of forest resources. These visits are characterized by presenting restoration action on the ground, with a landscape, multidisciplinary and participatory approach.
