This three-day workshop follows the approval of “The Restoration Initiative” (TRI), a 54 Million USD program supported by FAO, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), to make a significant global contribution to restoring ecosystem functioning and improving livelihoods through the restoration of priority degraded and deforested landscapes, in support of the Bonn Challenge, and in response to the expressed needs of countries.

The main objectives of this event are to: (i) help inform the development of each country child project under TRI, (ii) create the condition for synergies/collaboration between the ten countries/partners and (iii) shape the Global project to be useful and supportive for national projects and global impact. The workshop will be an opportunity for each country to express its needs in terms of tools, information and technical support in realizing restoration goals through TRI.
