 Mr. Audun Lem, Deputy Director, Fisheries and Aquaculture   Division, FAO

Audun Lem is with FAO since 1996 and is currently a Deputy Director in the Fisheries and Aquaculture Division. An economist by training, he has a PhD in Agricultural Sciences from MIR in Poland, an MBA from Harvard University and a BSC from the Norwegian School of Economics. At FAO he is responsible for the two Thematic Areas of Aquaculture and Value chains. Previously at FAO, he has served as the Secretary of the Sub-Committee on Fish Trade and also as coordinator of the GLOBEFISH project.

Nada Bougouss is a senior fish value chain expert at the Value Chain Development Team (NFIMV), FAO’s Fisheries and Aquaculture Division. Within NFIMV, she has worked on post-harvest issues, eco-labelling, certification and traceability. Previous to her experience in FAO, Nada served as quality and marketing specialist for 7 years at the Centre for Marketing Information and Advisory Services for Fishery Products in the Arab Region "INFOSAMAK". She also worked as monitoring and outreach officer for one eco-labelling scheme owner.  Nada holds a M.Sc in Food Science from the Institute of Agronomy and Veterinary Science Hassan II (Rabat, Morocco) and a M.Sc in Aquatic Food Security from the University of Stirling, UK.

Alicia Gallardo Lagno currently, Undersecretary of Fisheries and Aquaculture of Chile, leading the implementation of gender equality, the strengthening of the sustainability of small-scale fishing and aquaculture, control of IUU fishing and the promotion of the consumption of seafood. She led the management of the ISA virus outbreak in salmon industry, participating in the development of the new sanitary regulations and implementing the sanitary management model in aquaculture with emphasis on Biosecurity and responsible and prudent use of antimicrobials. She was National Director of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Service, Sernapesca, leading the modernization process of this institution, through the development of the implementation of risk models in the control, innovation and use of technologies, among others. She is vice-chair of the OIE Aquatic Animal Health Standards Commission (AAHC) and chair of the APEC Oceans and Fisheries Working Group (OFWG).

Luciano Pirovano is the Global Sustainable Development Director of Bolton Group Food Business Unit. In 2008, he participated in the creation of the International Seafood Sustainability Foundation and has been the Chair of its Board of Directors. He actively participated in the launch of the Bolton Food's Corporate Social Responsibility program, obtaining important results in the field of environmental and social sustainability such as, for example, the multi-year partnership with WWF and Oxfam.

John Keeler is the Founder of Blue Star Foods Corp., which was founded in May 1995. Blue Star Foods Corp “NASDAQ:BSFC”. is an integrated ESG seafood company that processes, packages and sells refrigerated pasteurized Blue Crab meat, and other high-value RAS aquaculture seafood products. He holds a BS in Economics from Rutgers University, he also attended the Harvard Business School Executive Programs focused on supply chain management, negotiations and marketing. Mr. Keeler has successfully taken the company in to the Public Markets & built sales over the past 26 years to $20+ million annually and is recognized as a leader and innovator in the measurable ESG enterprise model within the seafood industry. In February 2021, Mr. Keeler was named Best CEO in Sustainable Seafood Industry by European CEO Magazine.

Antonio Basanta Fernández has a degree in Political Science and Administration from the University of Santiago de Compostela (1996-2001), specializing in Public Administration. Master's degree in Fisheries Economics from USC (2008), PhD candidate in Economic Sciences (USC), and deckhand for the Merchant Navy. With experience as a fishing and merchant marine sailor, he has been chief of staff of the Consellería do Mar since 2013, a department where he also served as head of relations with Parliament. He has been a leader project in the EU-Turkey twinning project in terms of improving the capacities of the Common Organization of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Markets and has participated as an expert in fisheries issues in relation to the traceability and control of products of the fishing.
