Sugar Cutout Cookies

Ingredients
margarine: 1/2 29
egg, chicken: 2
sugar: 1 29
baking powder: 1 31
sodium bicarbonate: 1 31
flour, wheat: 3 29
shortening: 1/2 29
vanilla: 1 31
sauce, tartar: 1 27

Steps
1. Mix together dry ingredients except sugar. Cut in margarine and shortening.
2. Beat eggs, add sugar and vanilla and beat again. Add mixture to dry ingredients. Mix as for pie crust and wrap tightly in wax paper.
3. Put in a plastic bag and chill until cold (at least 3 hours). Roll out to approximately 1/16-inch (2 mm) thickeness.
4. Cut with cookie cutter and sprinkle with sugar (colored, if desired). Bake at 400 degrees F for 5-7 minutes or until light brown.
