Steps
1. Soak cowpeas for 3 hours.
2. Chop onions and mix with cowpeas, pepper, and potash.
3. Add oil, salt and water, and mix to a smooth paste.
4. Ready pot for steaming and place on the fire.
5. Wrap mixture (4-tbsp portions) in leaves and steam in covered pot for about 1 hour.
6. Serve with hot or cold eko or gari as a light meal.
