Level of water stress: disaggregation of the SDG 6.4.2 indicator at sub-basin level in Peru

The IMI-SDG6 team and the National Water Authority (ANA) Peru have started a new collaboration on implementing the disaggregation of the SDG 6.4.2 indicator at sub-basin level in two pilot river basins, Rio Pisco and Mishquiyacu. A technical mission to support the ANA's team is taking place from 15 to 19 July 2024.

The ANA's Dirección de Calidad y Évaluacion de Recursos Hidricos (DCERH) and the Dirección de Administración de Recursos Hídricos (DARH) are working together with the Integrated Monitoring Initiative (IMI-SDG6) in FAO on elaboration of the detailed information related to water stress, and more specifically to assess the environmental flows in the two river basins. The results of this activity will help ANA Peru in redacting a the new national water policy focusing on SDG 6.4.2.
