The event is organized by the Platform for Agricultural Risk Management (PARM), a G7-G20 Initiative, hosted by the International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

The objective of the courses is to bridge the knowledge gap in production, marketing, financial, institutional and policy-related risks at the farm level, as well as across the agricultural value chain, with a holistic approach in the developing country context. They are targeted to national policy makers, farmer organizations and operators in the agro-food value chains, to transfer skills and competencies to mitigate Agricultural risks, using concrete tools and strategies.

These e-learning courses, developed in close collaboration with the European Commission (EC), Agence Française de Développement (AFD), Italian Directorate-General for Development Cooperation, KfW Development Bank, BMZ, and the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD), contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals 1, 2 and 13 and FAO Strategic Objective 5 (Increasing the resilience of livelihoods to threats and crises), and are offered free of charge, as a global public good, through the FAO e-learning Center.
