An event hosted by The Regional Centre of Excellence against Hunger and Malnutrition (CERFAM) of the Government of Côte d’Ivoire and the World Food Programme (WFP) and Agreenium.

The main objective of this webinar is to examine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the African food systems and discuss how resilient, inclusive food systems can play a key role in contributing to ensuring access to nutritious food to all and accelerate a swift recoveryThe event will aim to foster discussions and the sharing of experiences and good practices between the different actors of the food systems who intervene throughout the value chain, from production to consumption, in order to accelerate the fight against hunger and malnutrition in all its forms.

It will provide practitioners the opportunity to interact with experts from governments, regional organizations, United Nations agencies, academia, and other partners and provide them with concrete tools to advance sustainable food security and nutrition solutions drawing on systems thinking.

The specific objectives of the webinar are as follows:

  • Provide an overview of the state of the food systems in Africa highlighting fragility factors, opportunities, and perspectives during COVID-19 and beyond.
  • Showcase and discuss successful good practices, experiences and lessons learnt. 
  • Propose innovative and impact-driven solutions to drive bold actions in support to transformative and resilient food systems for healthy diets.
