The 2023 Environment and Emergencies Forum (EEF)

The 2023 EEF is organized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), through their Joint Environment Unit (JEU), and is hosted by the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG – ECHO).
About the Forum
The 2023 Environment and Emergencies Forum is a unique global event that focuses on the interface between the environment and humanitarian emergency response.
This biennial event brings together stakeholders from around the world to showcase progress in environmental emergency preparedness and response and highlights current efforts and existing challenges as well as opportunities in integrating environmental risk in humanitarian action. The Forum provides a unique opportunity to discuss global policy, share experiences and knowledge, forge new partnerships, and agree on key actions to ensure an efficient, localized and sustainable response.
The 2023 EEF will focus on three topics: Readiness for Response, Response and Recovery, and Environment in Humanitarian Action (EHA). A plenary session will also be organized during the second day with a focus on Environment in conflict settings.
