Open Call for practices and technologies

Technologies and Practices for Small Agricultural Producers

Do you want to share the practices and technologies that can help smallholder farmers and producers to overcome the current challenges? Please submit your practices and technologies through the template. The Technologies and Practices for Small Agricultural Producers (TECA) Platform will help you to make them accessible to those most in need on the ground through FAO’s TECA online portal.

TECA invites your organization or institute to submit practices and technologies that have been successfully implemented on the ground, brought positive results and are easily replicable to similar areas. This will be an opportunity to document your practices in a non-technical language and make them available to farmers worldwide.

FAO’s Research and Extension Unit manages the TECA Platform, to bridge the knowledge gap between developers of technologies and practices and those that can apply them. It gathers successful agricultural technologies and practices to facilitate knowledge exchange and help family farmers in the field. The TECA Platform facilitates access to knowledge, promotes collaboration to help address agricultural challenges and contributes to the promotion of sustainable and inclusive rural transformation and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Each practice/technology is recorded in a standard format, using clear language and descriptive visuals to provide detailed specifications for easy implementation. The TECA practices and technologies cover a wide range of regions and countries and are available in different languages (English, French, Spanish and Portuguese) to reach a wider audience. Showcasing your technologies and practices on TECA will offer many benefits.

  • Support to document your practices following the TECA workflow and framework.
  • Source reference and ownership of your respective practices.
  • Standardized and quality controlled.
  • Cost-effective and easy way to publish and share technologies and practices in various languages.
  • Visibility through worldwide dissemination and outreach.
