A new policy brief shows that although cotton is a major export crop in the United Republic of Tanzania, domestic cotton farmers received lower prices than what they could have potentially obtained between 2005 and 2010.

The Monitoring African Food and Agricultural Policies (MAFAP) workshop gathered experiences from ten countries

A workshop to gather lessons learned after three years of monitoring the impact of food and agricultural policies in ten countries in Africa will take place in Addis Ababa from the 28th to the 30th of May 2013.

The MAFAP partners in Uganda (MAAIF, NARO and EPRC) organized a consultative workshop to present a brief summary of the findings for a selected number of commodities and the findings of the analysis of public expenditure in support of agriculture in Uganda on 9 May, 2013 at Hotel Africana, Kampala, Uganda.

FAO will intensify its support to agricultural policy monitoring in Malawi through a new partnership between the MAFAP programme and Bunda College.
