Le 19 septembre 2018 à Dakar, le SAPAA et le Centre Commun de Recherche de la Commission européenne (CCR) ont présenté au gouvernement les résultats de l’étude sur la budgétisation optimale du volet agricole du Plan Sénégal Emergent (PSE) pour la période 2019-2023. Le Comité de pilotage de l’étude, composé de la Direction Générale de la Planification et des Politiques Economiques (DGPPE) du Ministère de l’Economie, des Finances et du Plan (MEFP), des ministères sectoriels, et des institutions de recherche, a partagé ses observations sur les résultats de modélisation des différents scénarios d’allocation budgétaire et discuté des leurs implications en matière d’orientations politiques.

The FAO and OECD joint forces on 13th July in Rome to offer a seminar on Agricultural Outlook and Policy Monitoring and Evaluation. The event was organized under the auspices of the Committee on Commodity Problems (CCP).

Rwanda officially launched its new Strategic Plan for the Transformation of Agriculture (PSTA 4) during the Agriculture Week in Kigali last week. Through research, innovation and skills development, the Government of Rwanda seeks to increase production of high- value exports and strengthen the overall profitability of its farming sector. Over the past year, MAFAP supported Rwanda’s Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources (MINAGRI) on the formulation of the plan, which seeks to boost crop and livestock productivity in the country.

Le 7 juin 2018, le SAPAA et le Ministère de l’agriculture et des aménagements hydrauliques ont organisé l’atelier de validation des recommandations de l’étude SAPAA intitulée « Quelles actions politiques pour renforcer l’accès des producteurs agricoles à des engrais chimiques à prix réduits au Burkina Faso ? ».

On June 7, 2018, MAFAP and the Ministry of agriculture and water facilities organized the validation workshop of the MAFAP study entitled "What policy actions to facilitate agricultural producers' access to chemical fertilizers at reduced prices in Burkina Faso? ".

MAFAP has recently published a synthesis study, summarizing the results emerging from the 2017 update of policy monitoring indicators for 14 sub-Saharan African countries, namely Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania and Uganda. These indicators are commonly used to assess the extent of policy support to agriculture, both in terms of price incentives for farmers in key commodity value chains, as well as level and composition of public expenditure in support of the agriculture sector.
