Sustainable School Feeding Network (RAES) organizes exhibition of school feeding initiatives developed by its member countries
During the virtual event promoted under the Brazil–FAO International Cooperation Program, member countries will present good practices, challenges, and lessons learned.
The Sustainable School Feeding Network (RAES) will hold, on December 12, a exhibition of successful initiatives related to school feeding and the strengthening of sustainable food systems in the region.
At the “RAES Exhibition: Good Practices in School Feeding in Latin America and the Caribbean,” member countries of the Network will have the opportunity to present, through video submissions, good practices, challenges, and lessons learned in the implementation of their school feeding programs. Experiences from 10 countries in the region are expected.
RAES is jointly implemented by the Brazilian Cooperation Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (ABC/MRE) and the National Fund for Education Development (FNDE/MEC), with the executive secretariat led by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Currently, 18 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean are part of RAES.
The objective of the exhibition is to promote the exchange of good practices among countries and to highlight successful initiatives linked to school feeding and sustainable food systems.
Countries may address, in short videos, topics such as monitoring and evaluation technologies for school feeding programmes (SFP), innovative pedagogical practices in food and nutrition education (FNE), digital applications related to SFPs, experiences in reducing food loss and waste in schools, public procurement from family farming, the inclusion of fish in school meals, and new financing strategies, among other initiatives.
