Hybrid Event, 28/10/2024

WaPOR will be present at the 2024 Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) conference in Paris in segment 2 of session 5:
“Lessons from the field: How to achieve environmentally sustainable productivity in agriculture? Specific projects, approaches, practices and results”
OECD Conference Centre Paris in person event with livestreaming
14:00 - 15:30 (The livestream links will be available on 28 October 2024 at 9.00 GMT+1 in the conference website)
The session will include brief presentations on a number of diverse, real-life examples of projects, approaches and practices that attempt to advance in sustainable productivity growth. The presentations will focus on the methods and data used to measure outcomes and progress, considering both intended and unintended impacts on social, economic, and environmental outcomes. Through the examples, the discussion will explore the indicators that are used to assess whether, in given settings, they are contributing to sustainable agricultural productivity. The session will underline the importance of consistent measurement and reporting, while emphasising the importance of multiple indicators to capture progress towards the diverse components of sustainable agricultural productivity and the measurement of potential trade-offs and synergies. The session could include researchers and practitioners/farmers alike.
