WaPOR, remote sensing for water productivity

Join WaPOR at the Cairo Water Week!

16/10/2020

Due to the high population growth and scarcity of arable land and water resources in the Middle East and North Africa region, most of agricultural development and food production policies and strategies are focusing on increasing water productivity to achieve food security. In this context, WaPOR will be showcased in three sessions of the “Cairo Water Week” as a tool to support decision makers in facing the global environmental challenges:

  • “Bringing together policy objectives and data to improve water productivity”, 18 October 2020 from 14:45 to 16:15 CEST
  • “The role of information and communication technologies (ICT) in water conservation in agriculture management”, 19 October 2020 from 12.30 to 14.00 CEST
  • “Coping with water scarcity with water accounting and auditing”, 21 October from 12:30 to 14.00 CEST
