Transformation of food systems is critical to achieving countries’ NDCs and NAPs. Conversely, NDCs and NAPs provide entry points to identifying pathways for transformative change. This article is based on the COP27 World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) side event where the SCALA programme took part, highlights the need for food to “be on the table,” on the agenda, at COP 27 and beyond.

The SCALA programme is organizing an in-person side event at the NAP EXPO 2022 in Gaborone, Botswana on “Step-by-step guidance to enable transformative climate solutions as part of NDC/NAP implementation in the agriculture and land use sectors”. This side event will provide an open dialogue amongst National Adaptation Plan country practioners and stakeholders on the key dimensions, drivers and barriers to transformation in the agriculture and land use sectors within the context of climate change and NAP/NDC implementation.

Côte d'Ivoire partnered with the FAO-UNDP SCALA programme, to further support the implementation of its agriculture climate plans. The SCALA focal point at the UNDP Office in Abidjan, Mr. Jean Douglas Anaman, to learn more about how the programme will support Côte d'Ivoire to increase action in agriculture and land use, with a focus on sustainable agroforestry landscapes around cocoa culture.
