The main purpose was to provide sea safety training to youth, predominantly males that fish on the local alia craft, new regulations mean that any youth working on a boat at sea must have a certificate in this sea safety training.

FishFAD project supports using tuna in different ways to help generate income opportunities for fishing families in Kiribati. A market stall held to sell assorted fish goods. Fishtuna sausages, fish tuna samosa, fishtuna jerky and fish preserved tuna in jars.
