Satellite Earth Observations in Support of the SDGs
WaPOR data used to illustrate the ways in which Earth Observations can be used to further goal 6 of the SDG: clean to ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation. Data from WaPOR was used to derive actual evapotranspiration in the context of the hydrological monitoring of the f hydrological monitoring of the Zambezi river basin.

Rwanda Natural Capital Accounts: Water
WaPOR evapotranspiration data was used to cross-check and complement the AETI data that was compiled by the Rwanda Meteo Agency. The in-situ data had to be estimated because of the poor distribution of stations for data collection across the country and derived from evaporation data using mathematical equations.
