The TAP-AIS project, funded by the European Union and implemented by FAO, will actively participate in the DeSIRA CONNECT Days Asia & The Pacific, taking place from January 14–16, 2025, in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The DeSIRA CONNECT Days Asia & The Pacific, held in Hanoi from January 14–16, brought together key stakeholders of the DeSIRA Initiative to take stock of the  contributions of Research and Innovation to agroecological transitions and climate-resilient food systems.

Under the framework of the TAP-AIS project funded by the European Union, Jengalab, in collaboration with the FAO, the Dynamics for an Agroecological Transition in Senegal (DyTAES), and Yeesal AgriHub, hosted a networking and collaboration event in Dakar on July 30–31, 2024 and a co-creation workshop  on November 6th 2024.

“Pakistan should formulate a national policy on agricultural mechanization for smallholder farmers”. This was the clear recommendation by participants in a national policy dialogue event on this topic held on 29 May 2024 in Islamabad, led by the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Pakistan and the federal Ministry of National Food Security and Research (MNFS&R).

On 30 and 31 July 2024, FAO is organising a networking and collaboration event between the ‘AgriTech’ and ‘Agroecology’ innovation communities with the aim of accelerating digital solutions for the Agroecological Transition (AET) in Senegal.
The event is being organised with the financial support of the FAO as part of the TAP-AIS project.

Pakistan’s agriculture sector accounts for around 23 percent of GDP and 36.4 percent of total employment, according to World Bank data for 2022. Innovation in this important sector is central to catalysing its transition towards modern, sustainable agriculture, a process supported by the FAO-led project ‘Developing capacities in agricultural innovation systems: scaling up the Tropical Agriculture Platform Framework’ (TAP-AIS), funded by the European Union.
