The International Strategic Meeting on Scientific Pathways for Sustainable Livestock Industry Transformation opens today in Jakarta. Hosted by the Government of Indonesia and convened by the Indonesian National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the two-day event brings together over 470 participants, including international experts from 33 countries, alongside national stakeholders—policymakers, scientists, private sector representatives, NGOs, civil society, and development partners.

As part of efforts to protect Indonesia’s mega biodiversity, the Ministry of Forestry and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) launched today a IDR 74.6 billion (USD 4.4 million) project to strengthen the country’s capacity in controlling invasive alien species with Global Environment Facility’s (GEF) funding support.
