CANADA: A free video game for millennials
‘’In the Forest,” developed by Ako Solutions, aims to create vocations for professions on forest preservation and focus on problems on sustainable development. The game, to be launched during International Day of Forests, highlights forest engineering.
CHILE: Planting of native tree species
To restore its subarctic forests, Chile will plant native trees, particularly at the site where the community lost a well-loved, monumental tree. Tree planting, along with family activities, will be held in the city of Puerto Williams, Cabo de Hornos commune, the Magallanes region and in Chilean Antarctica.
COTE D’IVOIRE: Photo Exhibition and Radio Program
A photo contest and a campaign will be held to raise awareness on forest preservation. Flyers will be distributed and a radio program will be aired in the Cavally region, one of the areas impacted most by global warming and suffered loss in biodiversity.
HUNGARY: Photo and Forest Object Exhibition ‘Treasures of the Forest’
To highlight the important relationship between fungi and the forests, the exhibition will feature 30 photos of various fungi, along with displays of edible dried mushrooms and forest herbs. Books will also be on display. The exhibition will be on view at Kiskunhalas Lace House in Kiskunhalas from January 23 to the end of March 2020.
SPAIN: Urban Forest Event
The European Topic Centre of the University of Málaga is organising a local urban forest event in the context of the International Day of Forests this year in Málaga.
