Boğaziçi University Department of Tourism Management and Applied Tourism Administration and Research Center propose to organize an event in partnership with FAO Türkiye and Mountain Partnership.
It will be an informative event that aims to discuss the role of tourism on Sustainable Mountain Development from a critical perspective, focusing on the future of mountain communities, women empowerment in mountains areas, agricultural and non-wood forestry production &marketing, sustainable financing and management of protected areas, and sustainable mountain ecosystem services.

We plan to organize an event that will further the dialogue in Turkey, and thereby contribute to collaborations for sustainable mountain development. In doing so, we aim to discuss different dimensions of sustainable mountain development, with a special focus on the role tourism can play for the future of mountain communities, women empowerment in mountains, agricultural production and marketing, and conservation, sustainability of mountain ecosystem services, and management of natural resources in the protected areas.
