SKY DAY - "Life is better in the mountains"

There will be 21 cities involved and a virtual hub, all of Brazil in support of International Mountain Day.
With locations spread across the Northeast , Midwest , Southeast and South , SKY DAY is already a huge success with the public, with 388 registrants , and registrations remain open until tomorrow, December 6th !
We have a meeting scheduled for Saturday , December 7th , at 3:00 pm for the LIVE opening of the event through the Instagram page @skyrunningbrazil .
We will have the participation of athletes from the Brazilian skyrunning team Jasieli Rosa and Linabel Araújo .
Designated in 2003 by the United Nations on December 11th each year, International Mountain Day is celebrated by skyrunning. Mountains cover about 27% of the planet's surface and are one of the most fragile areas due to climate change, unsustainable development... and abandonment in remote areas.
The primary goal of the event is to create annual campaigns for the protection and restoration of mountain ecosystems . We will present actions carried out by the race organizers in 2024.
SKY DAY 2024 will also dedicate 100% of the funds raised to the 2025 Brazilian youth team , and we are very happy with the great involvement of the community in favor of our young stars.
There is no human activity with “zero” impact , but it is possible to minimize and adapt human behavior towards nature. Skyrunning is running in nature , up and down the mountain, with just a pair of shoes, a handful of rules and one important goal: to leave no trace .
The mountains are the stage for this unique sport and, since 2016 , the ISF has joined forces with the UIAA (International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation) to underline the mountaineering heritage of skyrunning .
Starting in 2024 , Skyrunning Brazil joins forces to raise awareness about our immensely beautiful but extremely delicate playground with this event that will be sanctioned annually .
Less cloud. More sky!
