Since the establishment of the Afri Nature Organization in 2021, we have been commemorating International Mountain Day by organizing workshops focused on environmental conservation and the importance of mountains for the residents of the Uluguru Mountains, particularly in the Mlimani area, culminating in tree planting near water sources.

This year, continuing with the celebrations for Mountain Day on December 11, under the theme "Mountain Solutions for Sustainable Futures, Innovation, adaptation and Youth" ANO has organized several activities for the community living around the Uluguru Mountains.

1.  Educational Workshop: A workshop and training for the community about the importance of mountains, environmental conservation, and how mountains can contribute to sustainable development. This will include topics such as the conservation of water sources, the benefits of mountains in agriculture, and clean cooking energy.

2.  Sports and Competitions: We have organized mountain races where young people can participate to promote tourism, health, and environmental awareness. All race participants will receive medals, and the first-place winner will receive a trophy.

These activities will help raise awareness among the community and enhance their understanding of the importance of mountains and various ways to protect and conserve the environment. We invite all stakeholders to collaborate with us in these efforts.
